Welcome to Central

Founded in 1854, Central High School is the oldest, free public high school in continuous operation west of the Allegheny Mountains. Offering programs such as Project Lead the Way Medical Professions Academy and Pre-engineering, and a year-long freshman transition program, students at Central High School have a variety of options to help each student succeed. There are also more than 40 athletic teams and clubs available for each student.

Denying the Release of Student Information to Military Recruiters:    High schools are required by law to provide student information like name, address and telephone number to the different branches of the military, when they ask.  If you or your parent do not want your information released to military recruiters, you or your parent must sign the denial form and return it to your homeroom teacher on or before September 25th.  Each student was provided a form during Homeroom on Aug 25th.  If you lose your form, there is a copy available here that you can print.

SENIOR PARENT NIGHT will be held on Wednesday, September 20 at 6:30 pm in the Central Auditorium. We will be discussing the college application process, scholarships, SAT/ACT, and answering any questions you may have regarding your students senior year. If you are a parent of a senior please plan on attending this very important event.
