What is the NCAA?
The NCAA, or National Collegiate Athletic Association, serves as the governing body for more than 1,280 colleges, universities, conferences, and organizations. The national office is in Indianapolis, but the member colleges and universities develop the rules and guidelines for athletics eligibility for each of the three NCAA divisions. The NCAA Eligibility Center works with the NCAA to determine a student's eligibility for athletics participation in his or her first year of college enrollment.
Students who want to participate in Division I and Division II college sports during their first year of college must register with the Clearinghouse at
eligibilitycenter.org. If you have any questions regarding registration please contact the counseling office at 812- 435-8298 or Mrs. Nebelecky at
[email protected].
If you are a high school athlete with aspirations of playing in college, you must meet certain NCAA guidelines to be eligible to do so. Refer to the resources listed below to learn more about participating in a sport in college and what you must do now to prepare yourself for doing so.

Students must have their SAT and/or ACT scores sent directly to NCAA from the testing agency. Thus, students should indicate the Clearinghouse code (9999) for one of their college/scholarship choices on their SAT/ACT registration form.
Important: A student should save the pin# he/she establishes for communication with the Clearinghouse.
